Jackery dates its clean-energy work to 2012, and its US warranty is issued by Jackery Inc. Its parent company is Shenzhen Hello Tech Energy Co., Ltd., which listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (code 301327) in September 2022, according to a 2023 press release from battery maker CBAK Energy.

Jackery splits its US lineup into an Expandable Series and a Standard Series. The Plus models (Explorer 1000 Plus, 2000 Plus, 5000 Plus) sit in the expandable group and take add-on battery packs. The v2 models (Explorer 300 v2, 1000 v2, 1500 v2, 2000 v2) are fixed-capacity units in the standard group, and the newer ones use LiFePO4 cells. Jackery now also sells units under a HomePower name, such as the HomePower 3600 Plus. In our database, the older Explorer models without a suffix (240, 300, 500, 1000) use NMC cells.

Warranty

Jackery’s service policy lists 5 years for the Explorer 5000 Plus series, 3 + 2 years for the HomePower series, Explorer Plus models (except the 100 Plus) and Explorer Pro series, and 2 + 1 years for the 1500, 1000, 500, 300, 240 and 160 series. The current v2 product pages go further and advertise “3-Year Warranty + 2 Extra Years Free, Exclusively at jackery.com”. The extra years are added automatically for orders on jackery.com; buyers from elsewhere can register for the extension. The Explorer 1000 v2 page’s FAQ says Jackery honors the warranty only for purchases from its website, Jackery-branded third-party platforms or local authorized dealers. Refurbished units get 6 months. Jackery service policy.

App and connectivity

Jackery’s current models connect to the Jackery app. The Explorer 1000 Plus page says you can control it from your phone over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Some settings live only in the app: on the Explorer 1000 v2, the one-hour emergency charging mode is switched on or off there. The Smart Transfer Switch for the Explorer 5000 Plus is also monitored through the app.

Battery packs and home backup

Battery packs are tied to one model each. The Battery Pack 5000 Plus works only with the Explorer 5000 Plus: five per unit for 30.24 kWh, or ten across two paralleled units. The Battery Pack 2000 Plus fits the Explorer 2000 Plus. The Explorer 1000 Plus page still says up to three packs, but also that the Battery Pack 1000 Plus is discontinued.

For house circuits, the Smart Transfer Switch (60 A) pairs with the Explorer 5000 Plus and HomePower 3600 Pro Max and switches in 20 ms or less. With a 5000 Plus it covers up to 12 circuits at 120 V or 6 at 240 V. Jackery asks owners to submit an installation request after delivery. A Manual Transfer Switch (240 V) is also sold for the 5000 Plus. A licensed electrician does the wiring.

Solar panels and connectors

Jackery’s panels are sold as SolarSaga: the SolarSaga 40 Air, 100 Air, 100 Light, 100 Prime, 200W and 500 X. The Explorer 1000 v2 takes solar through two 8 mm DC ports. Jackery’s cables are named for two plug sizes, DC8020 and DC7909; it sells adapters both ways, and the SolarSaga 200W ships with a DC8020-to-DC7909 adapter. The SolarSaga 100 Prime and 500 X can also connect with an Anderson cable. The Explorer 5000 Plus has a high-voltage PV input with MC4 connectors plus a low-voltage 8020 input.
