Goal Zero Power Stations
By Hicham M. · Updated October 17, 2026 · Specs as of September 2026 · How we calculate
Goal Zero is based in Utah, where it runs its US customer service. In April 2025, BioLite, the Brooklyn-based camp stove and lighting maker, bought Goal Zero from its previous parent, NRG, according to GearJunkie. Goal Zero keeps its headquarters and operations in Salt Lake City.
Every Goal Zero power station is a Yeti. The current 6th Generation covers the Yeti 300, 500, 700, 1000 and 1500, all with LiFePO4 batteries. The Yeti PRO 4000 is the large model, and paired with a Tank PRO 4000 battery Goal Zero sells the combination as the Yeti PRO 8000. Models ending in X (Yeti 200X to 6000X) are older. Goal Zero’s warranty page groups them with its NMC-battery Yetis, which get a shorter warranty.

Warranty
Goal Zero’s warranty page gives 5 years to the 6th Generation Yetis (300, 500, 700, 1000, 1500), the Yeti PRO 4000 and Tank PRO 4000. It lists the Haven 10 there too, but a footnote says Reliance Controls, its maker, warrants it instead. The Yeti X models and other NMC Yetis get 2 years, as do Goal Zero solar panels (Nomad, Boulder, Ranger, Flex) and most accessories. Open-box items get 6 months. One condition is easy to miss: battery products are covered only if you fully charge them within 7 days of purchase and at least every 6 months after. Purchases through online auctions or unauthorized resellers aren’t covered. Goal Zero warranty.
App and connectivity
Goal Zero’s app is the Goal Zero Power App. The Yeti 1500 has a pairing button for Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, and Goal Zero says the app lets you monitor and control the Yeti from anywhere. The Yeti PRO 4000 spec sheet lists Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi a/g/n, and says the Goal Zero companion app is required. In the app you can switch ports on or off, compare energy use with past data, and pick a charge profile: Performance, Battery Saver or Balance.
Expansion and home backup
Only the PRO line expands now. The Yeti PRO 4000 takes up to four Tank PRO 4000 batteries, for about 20 kWh. Goal Zero says the 6th Generation Yeti 1000 and 1500 don’t work with the Yeti Link Expansion Module or the Yeti Tank batteries used by earlier generations.
For house circuits, Goal Zero sells the Haven 10 manual transfer switch, which backs up as many as 10 circuits. Goal Zero says the system must be professionally installed. The Haven 10 is made by Reliance Controls, which handles its warranty. On the Yeti PRO 4000 page it also sells Haven Home Backup bundles from 4 to 20 kWh.
Solar panels and connectors
Goal Zero’s panel lines are Nomad (soft-sided, folding), Boulder and Ranger (rigid briefcase style), plus installable panels. The connectors are Goal Zero’s own: 8 mm for smaller panels and the High Power Port (HPP) for larger ones, with HPP-to-8mm adapters and a 4X HPP combiner sold separately. The Yeti 1500 has both an HPP and an 8 mm solar input for up to 900 W combined. The Yeti PRO 4000’s HPP input takes up to 3,000 W at 13.3–150 V, and its 8 mm input up to 275 W at 12.3–28 V.
