Can a Power Station Run a Well Pump?

Many well pumps run on 240 V, and most portable power stations only supply 120 V. So the first question is whether your model offers 240 V output. Only a few large, often expandable, models do.

A 1/2 HP pump runs at about 800 W and needs roughly 2,000 W to start (deep submersible pumps can need more). The good news: it only runs briefly, to refill the pressure tank, so daily energy use is modest.
