Can a Power Station Run a Microwave?

A microwave’s advertised wattage is its cooking power. A typical “1,000-watt” model pulls about 1,500 W from the outlet. So you need a power station with at least that much continuous output, and ideally some headroom.

Energy isn’t the problem: a 1,000 Wh station gives about 34 min of cooking, enough for many meals.

Tips

Look for 1,500 W continuous output or more. Smaller stations will overload and shut off.
Some models have a boost mode for heating devices that lowers the voltage to stay within limits. Microwaves may not cook properly that way.
Short bursts are fine. Reheating takes a few minutes, which barely dents a 1 kWh battery.
